AMEN Choir Erdington

Located in inner city Birmingham, Erdington Community Pathfindering Club (ECPC) is a uniformed organisation that operates on similar principles to to scouts & guides, but with a Christian ethos. The club's membership comprised young people aged 4 to 15 years old from a mix of cultures and backgrounds's. The Erdington ward is among the most deprived in the city and a significant proportion of our membership are from low income, lone parent households. The club provides a structured and varied programme of activities that aims to enhance the psychological, mental physical and social developments of its members. A key aspect of the club's programme is community service. During the last year our members have been involve in collecting food for and assisting in a food bank, harvest collection for the needed, fund raising and Easter eggs and arts & craft supplies collection for the Birmingham Children's Hospital, fund raising for children with special needs camp and Christmas programmes in elderly care homes. The Club is keen to engage our members in more service in their local community such as mobile soup kitchen, as well as providing more opportunities for them to broaden their experiences outside their immediate environment. The availability and cost of transport is very much prohibiting factor. Therefore members are now embarking on a fund raising initiative to buy a mini bus that will not only help them with their community service ambitions but will also provide a valuable resource for the local community to access.
