About Alzheimer's disease, in a dish

A disease in a dish, created using induced pluripotent stem cells, allows researchers to study the biomolecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease in the lab. Skin cells from patients are reprogrammed to create the stem cells, which are then guided to become the brain cells lost in the disease. This powerful technology has the potential to be used during high throughput drug screening. We all want a treatment that works, fast. We need to be able to effectively test drugs cheaply and quickly.
