About Amber Valley Gymnastics Academy

Amber Valley Gymnastics Club was established by Nick Stuart, nine times British Champion in the 1970’s at Lea Green, near Matlock, assisted by Alan Somerville OBE. When Alan became manager of Alfreton Leisure Centre he originally ran separate groups for girls and boys which were soon amalgamated and became Amber Valley Gymnastics Club. During this time many gymnasts became county champions and 2 boys reached national level at tumbling along with performing several displays nationally and internationally. Alan left the club in 2000 when he became Chief Executive of British Gymnastics. We are looking to expand this already successful club into one which will cater for all elements of the local community. We aim to use the numerous disciplines within gymnastics to increase physical activity within the Amber Valley community and inspire participation at all levels. We believe such a multipurpose club can support the local community by: · Improving physical and mental wellbeing · Providing and outlet for individual development · Allowing for the growth of social and community development Our ultimate goal is to raise £30,000 to spend on new equipment for the club. There is lots we still need and gymnastics equipment doesn't come cheap! The more equipment we have, the more children we can get involved! Any help we could get would be truly appreciated!

"There's quite a few sites similar to easyfundraising. But where this site stands out is it's helpful & quick replies to queries. It is so easy to set up an account & to start saving for a good cause - I've recommended easyfundraising to a lot of my friends, and they're as impressed as I am with the ease of how it works."

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
