About Animal Rescue Cumbria

Animal Rescue Cumbria, based in Grayrigg & founded in 1972, rescues, rehabilitates, & re-homes some 350 dogs, cats & kittens each year. Set up as a charity by Alfred & Betty Wainwright & known locally as ‘The Wainwright Shelter’ our heritage is rooted in our Lakeland community. We have a small staff of professional animal carers who help our animals thrive in a secure and caring environment whilst finding forever, loving homes. Your help pays for vets bills, good food & much more!
