About Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group

The Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group aims to preserve some of Scotland’s industrial railway heritage, especially that of Ayrshire and south-west Scotland.Based in a former ironworks in East Ayrshire, ARPG operates the Doon Valley Railway in the shadow of twin chimneys that dominate the valley.We are currently raising funds to renovate long neglected buildings into a museum fit for the 2020s.
