About Atherstone Adders Hockey Club

Atherstone Adders Hockey Club was established in 1953 and played all of its home matches at Atherstone Cricket Club in North Warwickshire, UK. Nearly 60 years after it was formed the Club finally gained access to its very own astro pitch in the heart of Atherstone at QE School on Witherley Road. The Adders run a Men's 1st X1 and Men's 2nd X1 teams who play their hockey in the East Midlands Division 2 of the Midland Regional Hockey Association League, and a Women's side who play in Division 3 of the Warwckshire Women's Hockey League. The Club also runs a successful Men's Fathoms team who play League hockey on Saturdays. The Fathoms is usually made up from younger players who are about to break into the Senior side and older players who are looking to enjoy a sociable game. The Junior section of the Adders is rapidly expanding and the lifeblood of the Club as they provide the Club with the first team players of the future. Junior coaching is on Wednesday evenings at QE school.
