About World Challenge Myanmar 2016 - Becky Jones

Located in mainland South-East Asia and only recently starting to emerge after years of political isolation, Myanmar, once a mighty empire is now one of the least developed countries in the region. Steeped in history, Myanmar is home to some of the most beautiful religious monuments on Earth: the ruined plains of Bagan are the remains of 10,000 temples from the Pagan Empire. Our 4 week journey will begin in Kalaw, where we will make our way through the heart of Myanmar's dense jungles and into the far North-East of the country. Following the main trek, we will enter our project phase, helping local villages with welfare initiatives and maybe even working with monks in one of the Country's Buddhist temples. This will definitely be an experience of a lifetime and I look forward to the challenge.
