Camps International Kenya 2026 - Elizabeth Rixon

My name is Elizabeth Rixon, I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Kenya in July 2026 for a month where I will be part of a team helping struggling communities in the rural part of Kenya This will include: building homes/community centres and toilets, supplying fresh drinking water for those who are unlucky enough to not live where it is provided, help build a place were elephants can thrive surrounded by the rural communities, and catch and de-worm goats which can then be used as a source of food for the community. During this trip I will be living with the tribal communities as well as fellow members from my school, and learning more about their culture. This trip is very important because it has the chance to change how people view the world, it gives people who would normally live in places where eveything is given to you the opportunity to get away from that environment and instead help others to get the basic essentials. It also gives people a deeper understanding about the world and how other people live. Its amazing to know that you have made a difference and helped others; and that is why I wish to do this adventure. To raise the money I will be going on a trek up Snowdon, holding bakesales in my local towns, going on sponsored runs as well as continuing my work as a gymnastics coach. I am determined to do this while carrying on with my prior commitments such as RAF cadets (where I hold the rank of Corporal), playing of the clarinet, my home chores and my school work. I will have finished my GCSE's and done a year of A levels after which I plan on going to university to study as a Doctor in the army. My hard working dad only has limited resources to help me reach my goal so any donations you feel able to make up until May 2026 will be greatly appreciated, thank you.
