About Crow Wood Park Bowling Club

Crow Wood Park Bowling Club is a small club in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax. The club is the place where approximately 20 men and women meet to take part in a sport they love. A lot of our members are of retirement age. Not only is this great for physical well-being but also mental health and massively reduces isolation. It provides an outlet and a purpose which is so important for everybody, but even more so when opportunities reduce as we get older. The fees to keep the club going keep increasing and there’s always a risk the club can’t afford these and would therefore close. We’ve increased membership costs, applied for grants but the cost of maintaining the green is huge. Local businesses have kept us going over recent years and we are so unbelievably grateful for this. Without them, we wouldn’t still be bowling!
