About Derby Civic Society

Derby Civic Society was formed in 1960 to stimulate public opinion in Derby in the promotion of the highest standards of Town Planning, Design and Architecture and secure the preservation and development of the City of Derby. We are an active group that constantly monitors all planning proposals in the City, whether for new buildings, the alteration of existing buildings or the landscape in which they sit. If appropriate, we will make representations to the Planning Committee on such proposals.
