The Dulverton and District Civic Society the governing body of the Dulverton Heritage Centre was formed in 1989 mainly to educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area. It undertakes this by having various exhibitions, one of which at present is in respect of the well known artist and author, Hope Bourne, another relates to the Red Deer of Exmoor and a third highlights the importance of the railway to the Town in the early part of the 20th century.
