The Objectives of the Gillingham Local Roots Group are:
To initiate and develop projects, activities and events for local people to access and to access community services and facilities within the neighbourhood to improve conditions of life.
To provide or source educational, training and employment opportunities for local people

To provide recreational, health, leisure and cultural facilities within the community
To represent the local community on neighbourhood issues

To work with other parties or agencies, e.g. Medway Council, Ward Councillors, Police and Emergency Services, NHS, Housing Associations, to improve the local environment
Gillingham Local Roots will transform this public space into a community green garden/allotment.  The plot is ideally placed and sized to support small-scale community growing.  The garden will provide a community focal point that will develop over many years.
