About Grassroot Movement In Nepal

In a short span of time, GMIN has been instrumental in bringing desired changes in Nepal. Since 2009, it has successfully completed renovating 11 schools in rural areas of Dang and Sindupalchowk and is currently working on 4 more schools. GMIN has also established an 'Earthquake Relief Fund' to support rebuilding of schools that were hit in the North-Eastern part of Nepal by a 6.9 Richter scale earthquake on the 18th of September 2011. As a part of this initiative, the 14th and 15th schools that GMIN has been started work on is in Taplejung where over 50 schools were destroyed in the earthquake. In addition to this, GMIN has been providing training to teachers, scholarships for students and teaching aids to schools. Nepal Youth Awareness Organisation (NYAO), a sister organisation in Nepal, conducts various awareness programmes and campaigns such as anti smoking and plantation programmes. GMIN UK is a new chapter of GMIN which will work hand in hand supporting projects by raising funds and sharing ideas. Our mission of improving education in Nepal's rural areas is focused on the following objectives: - Enhancing local children's access to formal (school) education. - Promoting community-centred participatory learning. - Facilitating training programmes including vocational training. - Incorporating knowledge on health and environment in education. - Contributing to the holistic development of children. GMIN UK aims to support children not just for today but aims to equip them with the knowledge and skill which will unquestionably have long lasting impacts on their lives.

"There's quite a few sites similar to easyfundraising. But where this site stands out is it's helpful & quick replies to queries. It is so easy to set up an account & to start saving for a good cause - I've recommended easyfundraising to a lot of my friends, and they're as impressed as I am with the ease of how it works."

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
