Jeavons Wood Primary School and Pre-School PTA

Jeavons Wood Primary School and Pre-School are fortunate to have had an established PTA (parents and teachers association) since the school first opened in September 2009 and the pre-school first opened in September 2013. The PTA organise fun events for parents, carers and children which also provide an opportunity for parents and carers get to know each other.While running these events, the PTA at Jeavons Wood Primary School and Pre-School raise funds for the children at the school. The money raised is used to fund educational activities and resources outside of the school budget. Examples of activities and resources that have been funded by the PTA to date:* Trim trail for the playground. * Benches and tables in the playground.* Helped with costs of the wildlife pond construction.* Annual Christmas pantomimes.* Ice lollies for sports day.* Biscuits and squash for the school's end of term, sixth form leavers, and Christmas parties. Examples of fun activities and events arranged by the PTA which also help raise funds:* Summer fetes.* Christmas tea towels/cards/mugs.* Discos. * Framed children's art sales.* Cake sales.In addition to the PTA's regular annual expenses, the following are examples of future projects the PTA would consider funding to enhance the children's school experience:* Outdoor classroom/shade* Playhouse* Playground equipment* Scented gardenHowever, the PTA is about much more than simply fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff,parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.Your support through this website will continue to help provide and develop an enriched school environment for your child(ren) during time at Jeavons Wood.
