About Operation Wallacea Honduras 2023 - Katie Moir

Next year I will be living in the cloud forest of the Cusuco National Park in Honduras for two weeks. Working as a research assistant alongside a team of scientists on conservation and biodiversity projects, such as, reptile surveying, carbon storage capacity, bat surveys and genetic screening of amphibians for chytrid infections; a disease causing the extinction of over 200 species of amphibians. This research helps to preserve the most precious, biologically diverse forest in Central America.
