Linlithgow First Responders

This is a voluntary service, where volunteers give up their own time for training and on call duty to aid the Scottish Ambulance Service with incidents in the local community. First Responders can be called out to casualties, offering them assistance and at times life saving treatment until the arrival of the ambulance. This is an invaluable service to the local community and can only be maintained through fund raising and donations. The volunteers at present use their own vehicle and ultimately a group vehicle which can be used by members would be a huge asset. The level of funding which we can currently achieve is limited and thus makes it very tight even to supply uniforms and essential equipment. The service can only operate if our current members and any future members can continue their training program using up to date equipment and in turn attend incidents in proper uniform with the correct, essential equipment. Any lottery funding would be welcomed and initially placed towards equipment and uniforms but a group vehicle is our ultimate goal. Our group at present aids the community by attending casualties but we also plan in offering free training to other local groups and schools which in the long run will raise awareness to the importance of first aid training.
