About Ryde Carnival

Ryde Carnival is the oldest costume carnival in the United Kingdom, dating back to 1887 the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria and her family were patrons of the Ryde Carnivals up until her death. Ryde Carnival was the first English Carnival to use the name carnival. We put on a number of carnivals each year which attract up to 60,000 people to our beautiful regency seaside town, now in it's 126th year we are looking for help to move us forward into the future.
