About Operation Wallacea Mexico 2016 - Shaun Taylor

Week 1 is at the World Heritage Site located in the Yucatan Peninsula section of the Selva Maya. They collect data to apply for long-term funding to protect the Calakmul forests and wildlife from deforestation and hunting in order to protect their biodiversity. Week 2 is at the marine research site in Akumal or Xpu Ha. They complete the PADI Diving Course. Lion fish & sea urchin monitoring, Turtle nesting site monitoring and tourist surveys included.
