About The Trimontium Trust

All volunteers, we promote the interest and education of the public in the huge Romano-native complex of Trimontium at Newstead Village near Melrose in the lee of the three Eildon Hills in the Scottish Borders. We run an Accredited Museum, guide weekly Walks for the public and Route Marches cum Museum Tours for children,have six lectures per year and publish an annual 32 page newsletter, The Trimontium Trumpet. There are some 500 members of the Garrison,. Troopers pay £5 per annum, Centurions £10 and further promotion depends on how deep your pockets are. We're celebrating 100 years of the first 'dig' with a huge painting of the site, a book publication and the securing, through Treasure Trove of our first hoard (222 2nd century AD denarii).
