Verran’s Bunjakko Island Expedition

Verran will be travelling as part of an expedition from Launceston College to the Bunjakko Vocational School in Uganda. The trip is at the beginning of July 2024 and she needs to fundraise as much as she can towards the £1800 cost of the trip. While there the young people will be working on projects such as putting finishing touches to a new DT block completed last year, and developing lessons that teach the Bunjakko students vocational skills; developing the farm school; planting flowers to sell. They’ll also visit an orphanage and homes in the local community to have an insight into what life can be like in Uganda. Leading up to the trip they’ll also be taking part in fundraising activities to raise money for the projects and collecting donations of items to take over there. This is an amazing opportunity to support children in another country and get valuable insight into a different way of life where the people have very little compared to us.
