Outlook Expeditions Peru 2016 - Will Marron

Hello and thank you for looking at my fund raising page. I am a pupil at Kings Priory School in Tynemouth. I am trying to raise funds to enable me to travel to Puru next summer to do some voluntary work with street children in Cusco. The project is based at a children’s home called Azul Wasi. It was set up by a local policeman in Cusco who witnessed the terrible things which were happening to the street children. He made it his personal mission to provide an alternative to the correctional facilities that many of the street kids found themselves in. We will be staying at the Azul Wasi children's home, where 15 kids live. Many are orphans, though all come from disadvantaged backgrounds and were working on the streets of Cusco before finding a home at Azul Wasi. The work we will be doing is to help develop the facilities so they can take in more children. We will also be working in the garden where they grow their own food and organising games and activities for the children to help them feel safe. We will also help teach them a little English and help with their homework.
